20 Hz

From the site, "20 Hz observes a geo-magnetic storm occurring in the Earth's upper atmosphere. Working with data collected from the CARISMA radio array and interpreted as audio, we hear tweeting and rumbles caused by incoming solar wind, captured at the frequency of 20 Hertz. Generated directly by the sound, tangible and sculptural forms emerge suggestive of scientific visualisations. As different frequencies interact both visually and aurally, complex patterns emerge to create interference phenomena that probe the limits of our perception."

Fun'da'mental - Ja Sha Taan

This artist demonstrates how a culture, that he may associate himself with, is exploited for the purpose of fear mongering. This song was released several years before the "War on Terrorism."

Space 1999 - Coral Sitar

This "Beyond Earth" entry is fiction, and is more of an example of "the exotic other" imagined beyond Earth. This is a good example of how science-fiction gives us a good outlet to exoticize others without stereotyping or offending, since we haven't knowingly encountered extra-terrestrial life.

The Detailed Universe

I liked viewing this video muted. Instead of listening to the video's soundtrack, I played the song below for better "blow your mind" effect.
If you'd like to do the same, follow these steps:
  1. Start playing the video until you can see the tool bar at the bottom of the video screen.
  2. Pause the video ASAP.
  3. Mute the video by clicking on the speaker icon (an x should appear to the right of the icon).
  4. Start playing the song below.
  5. Start the video as soon as possible after playing the song.
The song is about 2 minutes longer than the video, so it's up to you what you want to do after the visual stimulation ends.
